Numerical simulation of the stiffness evolution with curing of pavement sections rehabilitated using cold in-place recycling technology

Cold in-place recycling (CIR) technologies are becoming one of the main bets in road sector to promote reduction greenhouse gas emissions. This technique also contributes circular economy, reusing 100% RAP from worn roads. In this research, numerical simulations CIR sections presented. The nonlinear behaviour CIR-base material is modelled using three predictive models based on triaxial test results. Variations performance depending type subbase, curing and its thickness, effect wearing-course were analysed. response with unbound granular subbase proved be very sensitive variations parameters studied, increase base thickness was beneficial, while opposite occurred a cement-treated subbase.
